The rite of Baptism-Chrismation is the registration of Marriage with Christ. The rite of Confession-Penance is the renewal of Marriage with Christ after divorce (the rupture of Marital Eucharistic relations). The rites are different, but the essence is the same – bodily unity with God (life in bodily unity with Christ in the Sacrament of the Church – the Eucharist). Marriage does not depend on the rite of registration, and the essence of registration (rite) is to testify to the reality (of course, if it exists?!) of the marital union of two into one flesh. Baptism-Chrismation and Confession-Penance are two different rites of the same Sacrament – the renewal of marital unity with God (entering the Church, into membership in the community of saints)! Therefore, after baptism, confession-penance (as a renewal of the broken marital union with Christ) can be once (a maximum of two). Just as the rite of wedding (Sacrament of Marriage) for the newlyweds, who enter into marriage for the first time – is one, and for the second marriage (after the rupture of the marital bonds of the first marriage) – the rite of wedding-registration (marriage) is different (with penitential content of prayers – otherwise it cannot be), although the sacrament is the same! The third marriage – is already a complete catastrophe; it is permissible, but there is no rite of church registration for it. The Church (economically and missionally) does not speak about the next ones. Marriage is always marriage – even the hundredth! But the cripple – the one who enters the third marriage (we are not talking about widows now!), is already incapable of anything, so what to say about the hundredth! Once again we repeat: the rite of the Sacrament and the Sacrament – these are different things!
“I acknowledge one baptism (Marriage with Christ) for the remission of sins!” When a person falls away from the Church, from the Eucharist, they again become a pagan, who has “nothing” in common with Christ, returns to the sinful-adulterous existence with demons-lovers, with whom they committed adultery before marriage with Christ! Therefore, when a person comes to their senses (like the prodigal son, see Luke 15:11-32), repents and returns to the Church, the Sacrament of Baptism-Chrismation (Marriage), the renewal of unity in mutual forgiveness-acceptance: by God (Church) of the person and by the person of the Church (God) is performed again. But this (renewal of Marital Parish Eucharistic bonds of communal life with the Church in Christ) is testified by another rite (penance-confession), although the Sacrament of Marriage – Baptism-Chrismation (the second Baptism – with tears)! The Orthodox Church recognizes one (unique) marriage for the remission of sins (What God has joined together (by the laws of marital bonds), let not man separate – the two shall forever be one, one flesh…). It cannot be otherwise (the goal of all creation – Unity!)! And the second marriage after the failure of the first (only, as testified by the Church, and no one accepts Her testimony!) – is it marriage?! Yes, marriage! Even the rite of Church registration of this marriage exists (The rite of wedding of the second married). Similarly, those who have become widows can enter the second marriage. The third marriage – is an extreme exception. And further (fourth, fifth…) it is no longer worth talking (about those who enter the third marriage, a wise man once said jokingly-seriously: the cleric-priest who performed the rite of wedding (registration) of the third marriage – should be banned from serving as a manager, and the “newlyweds” – sterilized! In such a joke, this Spirit-bearer expressed the attitude of the Church to the third marriage and further in order (again, we emphasize: marriage is always marriage, even if it is the thousandth in order (if the newlyweds enter into marriage, not into sinful cohabitation “living together”)). So one marriage, unique?! – Yes! And the second marriage – is it marriage?! Marriage, if it is really marriage, not another romantic adventure-story! So, one baptism (rite-registration)?! The Sacrament – ONE-UNIQUE! And there can be several rites of this Sacrament: therefore there is both a second baptism (Marriage), and, as an exception, a third baptism (Marriage). (For a man and a woman, the next marriages – are marriages with other men and women, or, which happens very rarely, when a man and a woman break the marriage, but later forgive each other and enter into marriage again; and in the case of Marriage with Christ, all subsequent Marriages – is the renewal of the broken Marital bonds with Christ-Church). The essence of the rites-registration of entering into Marriage with Christ is the same in the first, second, third cases – in water baptism and the following two with tears of penance-confession (or in some other way, which the Church will consider appropriate – because the essence is not in the form-rite!) – these are all rites of the same Sacrament – registration (Marital bonds or renewal of broken Marital bonds) of entering into Marital life with Christ, Parish-Body of Christ, into unified-bodily-parish-eucharistic life with Christ (and in Christ with the Father and the Holy Spirit). In baptism, we become members of the Parish-Eucharist, and in confession-penance again, after falling away from the Church, from the Body of Christ, we become members of the Parish-Eucharist, become partakers of the Divine-Human Reality of the Kingdom of God! To be baptized – is to become a member of the Parish-Body. To be Happy, that is, a Christian – the anointed one of the Holy Spirit (and the goal of human life – Happiness – to acquire the Holy Spirit!), can only be being a parishioner, because only to the members of the Body of Christ – those who are in Marriage with Christ – the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit is given; to be a partaker of Happiness (the Kingdom of God) – is to be a partaker of the Eucharist (the gathering and communion of the People of God in the Bodily Fullness of the Holy Spirit, the actualization of membership in the Body of the Church – Marriage with Christ, life in Christ). Confession-Penance – is the renewal of membership in the Eucharistic Parish (the second baptism, not some dragging around with sins, and cleansing them)!
