Words have meaning only in a specific context (e.g., the word “key” – which key? What do you mean by this word: treble, stork, door lock, etc.). In theology (God-knowledge), such a “context” is the experience of the Church-Eucharist. Theology is the comprehension of the incomprehensible, the unknowable (not its “explanation” – words about…). Comprehension is possible (and necessary) because the “Unknowable” is given and revealed in the experience (knowledge) of the Church – it (the experience-knowledge) “vivifies” words. Explanatory theology (scholasticism, etc.) imposes words from the outside, which without knowledge are empty sounds.
And now let us say the most important thing. What is written in the book, what the author is pointing to or calling the reader to, only the author knows and those who have direct communication with the author and have the same experience-knowledge of the reality about which the author speaks, and have directly learned from the author what he is talking about!!!…!!! The Eucharist is communication with the Author of the Sacred Scripture of the Church (more precisely, not only the Scripture but all that exists. The world is a great poem (from Greek – “creation”), with which the Author wants to say something to free beings-hypostases, calls with the beauty (cosmos) of this Word of the Universal Poem, this Logos of Beauty). Therefore, the Eucharist is the epistemological “means-goal” in the fullest understanding-knowledge of this Word-Scripture. (We love (= like) only what we know (rationally: about…)! And we know (in the true understanding) only what we love! Rational epistemology – mind, senses, and logic; ecclesiastical, Eucharistic, experiential epistemology has Love as its instrument! Catholic consciousness is the result of Love (the Eucharist).). Do you want to know how the sun is created?! Know its Creator (in the Church, in the Mystery of the Eucharist – knowledge of the Father in the Thanksgiving of the Son by the Holy Spirit)! That is, communicate with the Author (its Creator). In Christ – the Logos of all logoi – is hidden the key to understanding all that exists (the beauty of the Cosmos – which calls to the Marital Life in the Divine Eros of the Holy Trinity).
One “father of the word” told his readers: “Read what I write, and look for nothing but your own pleasure. And if you find anything else, it will be your contribution to the reading. There has never been a good book that arose from a preconceived symbol, baked into the book like raisins into a sweet bun… I tried to present (depict) a real old man and a real boy, a real sea, and a real fish, and real sharks. And if I managed to do this well and truthfully enough, they can, of course, be interpreted in different ways” (Ernest Hemingway).
If you, after reading the book, have understood something, grasped it (and not just enjoyed it, delighted), – then you have definitely become a co-author, the author (the father of the word-facts) wrote the words, and you filled them with your own content-interpretation. A reader, listener, viewer… – is always a co-author (of the revealed reality)! I remind you again: the author of the book-word presents facts-meanings, which are always perceived in a certain light (worldview, perception of all that exists in a certain light), in which the reader-listener-viewer resides. A fact (given) is what exists regardless of me, the existence of which does not depend on me! Facts are always secondary to the worldview in the light of which all facts are interpreted! Each book is a fact-given, all verbal forms are a fact-given, everything that exists outside of me is a fact-given! And this given can be interpreted, filled with any content. Even communicating directly with people, we can (and in most cases it is so) perceive this communication as an empty form-fact… Instead of emptying ourselves to accept the Other, we empty the Other (the Neighbor) to fill them with ourselves (more precisely, with our own). Instead of being filled with the Other (it is no longer I who live, but the Other lives in me), we double ourselves, our ego (no perichoresis-unity (“so that all may be one: I in You, You in Me…”), which is the meaning of life, takes place). In our communication with the Other, there is often nothing in common!
Everything that exists outside of me (not mine) – given, calls me with beauty (or ugliness, deformity – to communicate in merciful compassion and empathy with the Other) to communicate with the hypostases (the Creator-Poet (the entire created world – the Poem (Creation) of God the Father), the Author or authors) of this (beautiful or ugly, deformed) reality. Therefore, the book is for enjoyment (joy), but it is not an end in itself (it is a gift), but a place of meeting-communion-communication between the Author and the reader-viewer-listener!!!
Once again, let us repeat: the perception and interpretation of all facts depend on the worldview, the attitude (attachment, bias) of the point of view of the one who perceives them; primary is the worldview, not the facts, which are perceived, interpreted, and understood only in the light (through the prism, lenses) of a certain worldview (glasses through which I look at the world). For example, a scientific fact or discovery for atheists is evidence that God does not exist, and for Christians – a reason for praise and glory to the Wisdom of the Creator God! One and the same Book – the Bible (and all the Writings of the Church) are read (more precisely, filled, interpreted) differently by different confessions-traditions-worldviews (Orthodox, Catholics, Protestants) (very often diametrically opposite content-meaning is filled into the same texts). The book you hold in your hands is a fact-given, which you will fill, at most, with yourself, with your experience!
