(V) 17.For the Elder to Clarify!

***

One prophet, when asked how it is that the righteous, knowing they live according to God’s commandments, do not boast of their righteousness, answered: “They do not know what end awaits them. Therefore, our salvation must be worked out between fear and hope. No one under any circumstances should despair, but neither should anyone hope excessively.” (Salvation is worked out on the royal path of repentance – between (with) fear and hope. With hope: because God is Father-Love and has already gifted me everything (the Kingdom of God) and It (that is, all, absolutely all Good-Blessedness) is mine forever and ever, forever(!); with fear: because the Kingdom of God is already here and now mine, and I am not yet in It (although I can already be in It, in Blessedness, enjoying the Goods of the Kingdom of God), Father loves me here and now Divinely through everyone and everything (nothing more can be added to this Love), and I am unhappy, lonely, poor-empty, godless… – it means that if I do not labor, repent, then I – having Everything (being all gifted, Divinely Loved by the Father Almighty), can (if I do not repent – do not accept (with humility-eucharist-joy) the Gift, God’s Love, God and all that is God’s) spend eternity in the hell of self-egoism…).”
