(V) 9.What is Good and What is Bad?

And then one student raised his hand and said:

– This is not all, this is not the end!

– How is it not all?! – the professor was surprised, – Surprise, irritation, and anger – everything is according to the theory!

To which the student asked the professor for this phone number and dialed it. The phone was answered:

– Hello?!

And the student: – I’m Vasya, did anyone call me?! ()

There were no words on the other end of the line (and not even anger)… – only sheer rage!..

Incidentally, let’s say a few words about judgment (for details, see part IV). Whoever judges, says (in essence, in spirit, often without realizing it): “I would never do that, I am not like this sinner, this loser, I am (much) better, I…” – do you feel the smell of deadly pride-egoism, spiritual blindness, and insensitivity?!

The mother of anger is judgment! (For the hellish lineage of passions, the connection between them (which passion is born from which) – see in the “Ladder” by St. John Climacus). Judgment is one of the most fruitful mothers of hellish passions; one of the elder sons of judgment is anger. Anger has many fathers, that is, we get angry for various reasons (from fornication, from lust, and so on) – when my desires are not satisfied, when they do not gratify me, my ego, my idols-gods: lust for pleasure, lust for glory, lust for silver… But always between the cause of anger and the anger itself (surprise-irritation-anger-rage) stands judgment! There is no anger without judgment!!! So, anger (rage) has many fathers (causes), but only one mother – judgment! Whoever destroys judgment in themselves (kills the mother), also conquers anger, and whoever, by the power of God, by God’s Grace, conquers anger, delivers a devastating blow to the very heart of hell, overcomes the most demonic passion – anger-rage; and whoever heals the power of anger, subdues it to the law of God, to the will of God (who now gets angry at evil, at sin, at everything contrary to God, not at a person, angel, or God) – is not far from victory, from dispassion…

To judge no one – one must give everyone freedom! Everyone has the right to be themselves and do whatever they want! (Yes, there will be consequences, but that is another matter). This right (authority – freedom) was given to each person (a free being – hypostasis-person) by God-Love, Father-Daddy!!! Therefore, never judge anyone (and even do not judge), but watch yourself, how you use your authority-freedom to do good or evil, to bless or curse, to thank (be grateful for everything) or to complain and blaspheme God and everything of God (the image of God)! Yes, not every action (thought, word) of a person is appropriate (to Happiness), but God gave us the right (freedom) to choose what we want (life or death, blessing or curse – see Deuteronomy 30:19) – and does not judge us for our choice, Loves us Divinely (each one, whatever path they choose – life or death, sin or good, – Loves, Loves and will Love always!). And you, human, repent, stop and turn from the path of death, hell, selfishness, hypocrisy, and deceit and firmly stand on the path of life – repentance: self-denial, cross-bearing following the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

God gives everyone the freedom to be themselves (to live as they want to the extent of their knowledge or ignorance-deception) and does not judge anyone for sins, mistakes, heresies, crimes, transgressions (of the Law, commandments)…, but Divinely Loves (cares for) everyone! So, we (Christ’s followers) should be merciful to everyone (judge no one, but in humility, have mercy on everyone, caring for their salvation (Happiness) in the Lord Jesus Christ, in the acquisition of the Holy Spirit)!

You are free – to be Happy or unhappy. You freely interpret reality: either as a Gift, a Present, Divine (or simply human) Love, or as hell, torment, “everything is bad!,” “everything is lost!,” “nothing good!,” “how much longer?!,” “why is this happening to me?!” and so on. Here is the mystery of freedom, here is the call to Happiness – responsibility for oneself – to recognize oneself (and others) as free, to live in the mystery of freedom, not in the deadness of rigid necessity! Be vigilant! Do not sell your freedom to lifeless thoughts of self-justification and blaming (condemning, judging) others. Fight for freedom – for the image of God (in yourself and in others). Without freedom, there is no (and cannot be) Love! So, first, release (everyone and everything) – give freedom (acknowledge as free, as a person, as the image of God), and then love (the free) God and the image of God with the power (Love) of the Holy Spirit! No one owes me anything – that is what it means to give freedom (to everyone). And then it remains (to use my freedom appropriately) – to Love everyone (I owe everyone everything – this is the most appropriate decision of my freedom-responsibility – “that all may be one (in freedom-love), as God the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 17)!).
