Let’s give another example, for a clearer understanding of sin, as interference of consciousness in the unconscious (that which goes by itself). The breathing process: for normal body functioning in a “normal” state, a healthy person takes 12 breaths and exhales per minute. First, I will pay attention to this breathing process in my body (this means to look at nature), and then I think to myself that we are consuming too much oxygen, we need to economize and start making two breaths and exhales per minute. And what will be the result of such “sensible” economy?—oxygen deficiency, loss of consciousness, or even lethal outcome (this means—to correct natural processes, to correct God’s creation, which is perfect). In fact, you do not need to think about how to breathe and how much, or to give “orders” to the heart, how many cubic meters of blood it should pump in a certain period (that is, to think about nature) —these processes occur by themselves, they are unconscious, do not require the intervention of the mind, conscious logical management (like, for example, copying text from a book into a notebook—constant participation of consciousness, mind is required; but to assimilate the consumed food—process is automatic, just like breathing in and breathing out air…). You might say that in an alert state you still give some orders to the body. Fine, but when you sleep, who gives orders for you? Thus, whether we sleep or are in an alert state, natural processes occur by themselves, without our participation. What then are we to do, if not to treat diseases and not to deal with the body and soul?—To love, to communicate with God in prayer and with other people —to live a hypostatic life, to be happy, living in communication with other Hypostases—Divine and human, that is, to become god by grace—to live for others and because of others (in no case we are talking about the Divine or human nature—not in them is happiness, the Kingdom of God). Each of us in this life has experienced God’s grace either during prayer, participation in the sacraments of the Church, or in moments of great joy, or in moments of great sorrow (pure: without revenge, complaint, malice, despair), which create conditions for the revelation of our unique personality—then the whole world is forgotten (and not just the body and soul), and there is only the Other as the Goal and Happiness. Or another example—a person in love, who is in the core, at the highest peak of feelings of love, forgets everything and for him exists only the Beloved. Does he lack anything for complete happiness?
The lover would respond – “No! Neither fame nor fortune, nor anything else is needed!” (we are talking in earthly terms here; theologically speaking, yes, something is missing – divine help is needed to overcome space and time, to liberate the personality from nature as a mediator for direct communication in love). And of course, we are talking about pure feelings, not lustful passion (eros distorted by the carnal mind), which shows that happiness is not in nature, but in the Other (not in something that belongs to him, his nature [which is also mine – in us, people, there is one nature for all human hypostases], but in Him Himself). You might say: “What about food, isn’t it necessary for life?” – Yes, for the children of Adam, who have not yet entered the New Covenant with God, who have not died to this world and have not been reborn through the waters of baptism into life in God – it is necessary, and they are only concerned with these issues: what to eat, what to drink, what to wear, and obtaining some ephemeral pleasure. But those who have moved from death to life – live by God and consume God in everything, so food is not necessary for them. We say that the goal is not food, but the One with whom we communicate while consuming food. Adam in Paradise before the fall consumed God in everything, partook of the Divine through everything, that is, he looked and sought not the nature through which he partook of God, but the One who stands behind nature, or rather, whom he beheld through the spiritual nature, until he had grown to direct, face-to-face communication with God, until he “learned,” would become a hypostasis of life, humble love, and merge into the life of the Holy Trinity as a deified human hypostasis. (We got a bit carried away again – you can discuss this in more detail with theologians, as listed in the recommended literature). Adam, instead of directing his consciousness towards the Other, another personality, directed it towards his own nature…
Thus, all ailments come from the fact that man begins to correct the “good evil” of God’s creation, and in such a case, God Himself, placing himself in the place of God (this, “you will be like gods,” resonates in the ears of humanity throughout history). He, as it were, overlooked something: it should be like this here, and this should not exist at all… and due to such corrections, man, as a biological species, is on the verge of extinction. Some scientists claim that humans as a biological species are mortal, and an ecological disaster (as a result of the intervention of consciousness in nature from outside one’s individual flesh: for example, drying up natural swamps because there “intelligent” practical mind saw another perspective – a football field… And as a result of such “creativity” – hundreds of species disappear from the face of the earth, as if they were not needed here. I’m not even talking about the pollution of water basins, soil, atmosphere, interference in genetics, mad experiments with “atoms” etc.) caused by this “homo sapiens” accelerates the process of dying.
