(V) 6.Spiritual Gifts. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’ The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:1-17).

“God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth” (1 John 1:5-6). “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked” (1 John 2:3-6). “Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God” (1 John 3:9). “And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” (1 John 3:23-24). (Only a Christian, baptized by the Holy Spirit, who in the Holy Spirit knows (recognizes) Jesus Christ as Lord, the Son of God (the Second Person of the Holy Trinity), can keep the commandments (believe in Jesus Christ and love); “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23)). “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love… If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit… And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:7-16). (Only the one in whom God abides can love! For only God is Love! Love is from God; therefore, if someone loves, he is a Christian, baptized by the Holy Spirit, and he cannot help but love, because love (in the Holy Spirit) became his nature in the baptism of the Holy Spirit (in being born of God); just as the sun cannot help but shine (otherwise, it is no longer the sun), salt cannot be unsalty (otherwise, it is not salt), so a Christian cannot help but love! A baptized person by the Holy Spirit can no longer sin and can no longer not love! Therefore, one who does not yet love (even one person, anyone: an enemy, a Satanist, a heretic, an occupier, a maniac-terrorist, etc. – wishing evil to someone and doing evil), he is not a Christian! If you do not love someone or do not feel the fruits of the Holy Spirit in you (see Galatians 5:22-23), then whoever you are, whatever ministry you have (prophet, missionary, teacher, theologian, bishop (patriarch, pope…), presbyter, exorcist, miracle worker, healer, prophet…), whatever spiritual gifts you possess (miracles, prophecies, teaching, missionary work…) – you are not a Christian! Therefore, do not deceive yourself: neither by knowledge (theological) – the devil knows more than all theologians combined, nor by miracles – the antichrist also performs many signs, heals, prophesies… Do not deceive yourself: if there are no fruits of the Holy Spirit, then the conception from the Holy Spirit has not occurred (no matter how many times you have been baptized-immersed and anointed with oil, and whatever gifts (for ministry, ministerial!) of the Holy Spirit you possess), you are not a Christian, and therefore become a catechumen: listen to the Word of God, learn the will of God, the commandments of God and try to fulfill them – you will recognize your weakness, godlessness, perdition, you will become poor in spirit (you already are, you just deceived yourself with spiritual gifts – the gifts are not yours, they are given to you for ministry in the church, so that by serving with them, you may gain humility, humble yourself, recognize your poverty of spirit). Only then will the Lord baptize you with the Holy Spirit (yes, even those who had spiritual gifts (of foresight, miracles, teaching, preaching-mission…) and served the church with them for years! For not every miracle worker, seer, teacher… will enter the Kingdom of God (many the Lord will say: “I never knew you!”), but only those who have humbled themselves, recognized their perdition, poverty of spirit, and with a humble and contrite heart received the Holy Spirit!)). “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him (especially with thoughts). We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life” (1 John 5:18-20). “Love one another. This is love, that we walk according to His commandments… Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son” (see 2 John 5-6, 9).
